  • Awesome Quote

    This is not my quote, but I think some of you might find it funny... One of my best friends was ranting and started talking on the subject. ( I did paraphase alittle, because I was laughing  while she was saying it)

    " Its not a big deal, it isn't that special if even dogs can do it. Everything has sex to reproduce, it really doesn't matter. Now a master's degree that's something to celebrate. That's a big deal, not everybody gets one of those."

  • Repost

    Decided to repost a poem I made around 3 years ago:

    I shall attemp a work of fiction. For you now a piece of folklore.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Long ago a pious Irish farmer and his family lived in the country, slowly working the fields, and tending to their animals from dawn to dusk. They were never wealthy, and always had just enough food to fill their bellies. They praised God, attended church, and followed every rule set down by the Almighty. One day, while the farmer was returning from market, he saw the road he had walked up hours before, forked in three ways, with bushes blocking two paths. A shadowy figure appears before the farmer. The figure speaks, " You have lived this pious life by no choice of yours, now you shall have a choice. For you childrens sake you can change your path. In one week after you have gone to market, you shall choose." The figure disssapears, and the farmer is puzzled, but he continues home. He eats with his family, a meal that barely fills the stomach. He looks at his two children and wonders what he could possibly do to better their lives. A week passes, the farmer is returning from market, and upon arriving at the road he has traveled many times and see not three forks, but two bridges over a rushing creek. standing on the bridge to his left is an old woman with a cane. To his right a healthy young man, dressed in clothes the farmer could never purchase. They both walk down the bridges to approach the farmer. The old woman goes to the farmer and says, " Dear boy, The path you are on now has been right all along. Keep going and the lord shall bless you in the after life." The young man debates this, " You could spend the rest of your life, breaking your back, dying a normal, miserable death, becoming unknow and nothing to no one, or give your children power and wealth." The old woman interjects, " But Son, if you do this, your children, may have all the wealth and power, but tradgedy follows them to the ends of the earth." They argue for hours, the farmer, tires. Finally the young man says "Your children will have enough food and drink to fill you bellies twice, Every once and awhile something may happen, that is a little sad, but they can handle it." The farmer, follows the young man, as the old woman begs hin to reconsider. The Farmer and the young man cross the bridge, and are swallowed into the earth in a firey pit. The Old Woman dissapates into white light and flies to the sky. And that farmers name who gave his children everything, and marred their futures with tragedy, Kennedy.
  • Think Its Time
    So after spending months away from an actual post, I've decided to kick it off wth a good ol' RANT!
    I was checking the front page when I noticed a link about " Are You Worthy Of The White Dress?", Knowing it was about the subject of weddings I clicked it. I soon discovered the link was to the site of Revelife, a Christian blog. This can't be good. A woman had written in, and on the blog stated  or possibly the blog stated for her) that even though she had remained a virgin, she was not worthy of the pure white dress, because she had actually had impure (sexual) thoughts.
    BullFreakingCrap!
    To avoid eyebleeds I'm just going to stick to the wedding part of this, SerenaDante feel free to take the sexuality part of this.
    The white dress has not always been a central part of weddings, nor has it always been a symbol of the bride's christian and sexual purity.The dress for a bride also varied depending on country, class, religion... even in  the amount of debt the bride and family incured. There were some stories where I believe a debtted scottish bride or two married in the nude to absolve her debts when she entered into marriage.
    The traditional sense of dress for a bride was her best dress, no matter the color. It wasn't untill the fashion maven :P Queen Victoria got married that the white wedding dress became the 'it' thing. Queen V wanted the white dress to show purity, but also innocence and happiness. She was also wealthy so going out and buying an all white dress to be worn only once, had a bit of a pull too. This woman could afford lesuire, and many spaniel dogs to keep her company, as opposed to her poorer, suffering counter parts.
    America embraced this concept whole heartedly, seeing how it been oh... 'bout a hundred years since we decalred independence. Rich women bought the white dresses, donned the veils- which actually dates back to idea that evil spirits would do just about anything to ruin your big day. Gathered a bunch of flowers that had secret messages, got married and had  a VERY rude awakening on their wedding night. ;)
    Now here is where the rant comes in:Modern weddings= Bulls**t!
    Wait, that's not really a rant, just an opinion.... but if you want a REAL RANT.... Give me a Yes in the comments , I'll give you a wedding rant.
    Nice Day... For a Rant on Weddings... Nice Day to Start Again!
