So after spending months away from an actual post, I've decided to kick it off wth a good ol' RANT!
I was checking the front page when I noticed a link about " Are You Worthy Of The White Dress?", Knowing it was about the subject of weddings I clicked it. I soon discovered the link was to the site of Revelife, a Christian blog. This can't be good. A woman had written in, and on the blog stated or possibly the blog stated for her) that even though she had remained a virgin, she was not worthy of the pure white dress, because she had actually had impure (sexual) thoughts.

BullFreakingCrap!
To avoid eyebleeds I'm just going to stick to the wedding part of this, SerenaDante feel free to take the sexuality part of this.
The white dress has not always been a central part of weddings, nor has it always been a symbol of the bride's christian and sexual purity. The dress for a bride also varied depending on country, class, religion... even in the amount of debt the bride and family incured. There were some stories where I believe a debtted scottish bride or two married in the nude to absolve her debts when she entered into marriage.
The traditional sense of dress for a bride was her best dress, no matter the color. It wasn't untill the fashion maven :P Queen Victoria got married that the white wedding dress became the 'it' thing. Queen V wanted the white dress to show purity, but also innocence and happiness. She was also wealthy so going out and buying an all white dress to be worn only once, had a bit of a pull too. This woman could afford lesuire, and many spaniel dogs to keep her company, as opposed to her poorer, suffering counter parts.
America embraced this concept whole heartedly, seeing how it been oh... 'bout a hundred years since we decalred independence. Rich women bought the white dresses, donned the veils- which actually dates back to idea that evil spirits would do just about anything to ruin your big day. Gathered a bunch of flowers that had secret messages, got married and had a VERY rude awakening on their wedding night. ;)
Now here is where the rant comes in:Modern weddings= Bulls**t!
Wait, that's not really a rant, just an opinion.... but if you want a REAL RANT.... Give me a Yes in the comments , I'll give you a wedding rant.
